A pint with Rod Turner: Time and place set

Despite one or two aberrations which I won’t name in case any old boys live in those particular towns, Kent largely earns its nickname as The Garden of England.

Tonbridge is a perfectly pleasant old market town on the Medway with a decent castle and a high street that just about holds its own although it has a plethora of the inevitable coffee shops and charity outlets.

This is where former Games Master Rod Turner will be on Sunday 22 August and he cordially invites any St Mary’s old boys along for a drink.

From 1pm, Rod will be at the Hilden Manor, Tonbridge North Premier Inn, Hilden Manor, London Rd – TN10 3AN.

Rod is very keen that the invitation extends to any old St Mary’s boy – certainly not just those who played rugby.

It will be a relatively quick meet – a pint or two – and a chance to have a wander down memory lane in a relaxed setting.

Several old boys from a number of different years have already indicated they intend to come.

Who knows who will turn up? The one thing for sure that will connect us is St Mary’s.

So if you fancy a jaunt down the A20 or the A21 then you’ll be very welcome.

An old St Mary’s scarf will be strategically placed on the table to identify us.
