‘Brock-ing’ all over the world

Joe, Matt and Jim Brock will all – fingers crossed – be at the book launch on 1 October
So far, it’s been confirmed that people are coming to the launch of We Did Our Homework on the Bus from Australia, Vietnam, Canada and Spain. Now to that list we can hopefully add Egypt with the news that Matt Brock is going to do his best to attend.
Well-publicised travel obstacles and the irritating spectre of covid permitting, Matt is going to do his best to be there to join younger brothers Joe and Jim.
Matt was the first of the three Brock boys to attend St Mary’s. He started in 1971 with Joe following two years later and Jim joining in 1977. They are all former pupils of St Anne’s in Orpington.
Joe has promised to bring a keyboard and play the school hymn on the day and we already have several willing volunteers who have promised to sing it.
Demand is rising fast for the event and more details will be communicated very shortly with news about what is happening on the evening of the launch. The launch itself will take place at Christ the King College, on the site of the old St Mary’s Grammar School between 2pm and 5pm on Saturday 1 October. Plans are being finalised for what looks like being a very special occasion indeed with a couple of hundred old boys who attended between 1947 and 1980 expected to attend.
It’s going to be fun!
