RIP Brian Pratt

In 1962, 28-year-old Brian Pratt arrived at St Mary’s and, for the next 33 years, would be a much-loved and respected art master. He had been educated at Wimbledon school of art and the highly prestigious Slade school of fine art where he gained a diploma in fine art and a special commendation for drawing in 1957.
A superb artist in his own right, he was also a bon viveur and epicure, who loved cricket and fine wine and could, when prompted, perform a decent Sinatra impression. His two sons, Justin and Nicholas were both at St Mary’s in the 1970s. Brian died in 2012 aged 77.
